This colourful folk toy from the first half of the 20th century depicts a kangaroo and her cubs on a simple wooden cart. When pulled, the individual figures are rocked by flexible wires and joints, creating a comical and playful effect. The hand-painted surfaces in shades of yellow, red and blue bear a distinctive patina, scuffs and traces of use that give the toy a nostalgic, homely character.
