Sales stand

A carriage designed for the street sale of fruit and vegetables, typical of the urban environment of the first half of the 20th century. The structure consists of a solid wooden body with raised sides, mounted on a chassis with spoked wheels and covered by a simple fixed canopy supported by four posts. The material is a combination of wood and metal, with a dark brown to burgundy colouring and a distinctive patina of long use; the surviving English inscription under the roof emphasises the period character. The item is in original, unrestored condition, suitable primarily for exterior use. It evokes the background of a street trader or market vendor and is a distinctive prop for a film, series, advertisement, or photo shoot with a historical feel.
