Simple equal-arm scales of the 1920s-1930s with brass centre column, steel arm and hinged metal bowls. The whole is mounted on a compact base of painted solid wood in a warm brown shade with a drawer for storing weights. The metal bears a natural patina, the wood minor signs of use - original condition. Suitable indoors as a prop for a pharmacy, country surgery or school classroom for film, series and theatre.
